In that same model call, I was also connected with Ren & Olivia — and funny enough, we actually did their session the very same day, just at a different park.
They were both so incredibly sweet, and at the time they were planning their wedding for that October. During our session they asked if I would be their wedding photographer, and I can’t even explain how excited (and a little nervous) I was to say yes.
It will be my first wedding back, and I truly don’t think I could have chosen a better couple to step back into that role with.
They’re planning an outdoor ceremony in the heart of fall, with those crisp leaves and classic Michigan colors. Living in means the weather can be unpredictable, so I’m just hoping for a dry day — it doesn’t even need to be warm, just clear enough for their moment to unfold exactly as it should.
Ren did mention she’s planning to wear a black wedding dress, which instantly made me think their day is going to have such a beautiful gothic-romantic feel. Between that and the rich fall colors, I genuinely can’t imagine a more fitting combination for a Michigan autumn wedding.
It feels like one of those weddings where everything just aligns perfectly — mood, season, and personality all coming together in the best way.
Please, Michigan… just be dry. That’s all I’m asking of you.
