Model calls are one of my favorite parts of photography because you truly never know who you’re going to meet or where it will lead.
I put out a model call looking for LGBTQ+ couples to help build my portfolio. My goal was simple — to show future clients that love is love, and that I am always honored to photograph every kind of connection. I’m so grateful I did, because it led me to Maddie & Charlie.
Maddie was the one who reached out and offered to help me expand my portfolio, and I will always appreciate that more than I can say. From the very beginning, we just clicked. It didn’t feel like meeting clients for the first time — it felt like catching up with friends.
We spent time talking about their wedding planned for 2027, and I learned that Charlie works with blueberry plants. They’re even hoping to get married in a greenhouse, which honestly feels so perfectly them and absolutely magical.
Sessions like this are such a reminder of why I love what I do and the people it brings into my life.
A little update about Maddie & Charlie — I actually ran into them again at the, and it made me so happy to see them!
They were in the exciting process of booking a greenhouse for their wedding day, which I know was something really important to them from the very beginning. Seeing it all come together for them felt incredibly special.
I’m genuinely so happy they were able to make that vision happen for their big day. It’s such a beautiful reminder of how personal and intentional weddings can be, and I feel lucky to have gotten to be even a small part of their journey.
