Brady was my very first senior session back, and honestly, it was one for the books.
His sister and I actually went to college together (yes, I did go to college — just not for photography, and no, it didn’t quite stick the landing). I had also photographed her and her dog Packer quite a few times over the years, so when Brady’s mom reached out asking if I’d be willing to do his senior photos, I didn’t hesitate for a second.
Brady has autism, and his mom mentioned how much he loves bowling, so of course I knew we had to make that part of his session. Making sure he felt comfortable and incorporating something he genuinely enjoys was the most important part of the day.
It ended up being such a meaningful session and a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do — capturing people exactly as they are, in ways that feel true to them.
Brady’s mom also shared that he wanted some photos at the beach. With it being Michigan, it was cold and a bit gloomy that day, but you’d never know it from the photos — they still turned out beautifully.
He honestly could be a model with how naturally he took direction and flowed through each pose. It made the entire session feel effortless in the best way.
It ended up being such a meaningful session and a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do — capturing people exactly as they are, in ways that feel true to them.
